Women's Ministry

The W. O. M. (formerly known as W. O. W. = Women of Wilhite) is our ladies' missions auxillary group which meets the first Monday evening of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the church's fellowship hall.  During the meeting the ladies have a devotional time, enjoy refreshments and fellowship. Following the fellowship time, the ladies have a business meeting during which all the ladies help in planning various mission type projects.

The ladies also participate in many other outreach programs.  W.O.M. has a project called "Hospitality Baskets."  The ladies are divided into teams which take snack baskets to CRMC and put them in the one day surgery waiting area.  We can only put a note on them stating, "Compliments of Wilhite Baptist Church and our ladies," and the church's address.  Each team is responsible for a two week supply.

The ladies help with Christmas activities in the community.  We help the local rescue mission with items requested for Christmas gifts.  We help with area "Shoe Boxes" to be sent over seas for Children at Christmas as a part of Franklin Graham's ministry, "Operation Christmas Child."

The ladies have also helped clean individuals' homes and cook meals for those who were sick and needed assistance.  We are here to help in anyway God gives us.

W.O.M. plays a major role in the church's annual Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions, and the Golden Offering for Tennessee Missions.
